In the early 1900's missionaries visited Kenya; We think the most important thing they brought with them was their knowledge of coffee cultivation. Agriculture is the primary source of income in Kenya, closely followed by tourism.
Kenya's topography is widely varied; Breathtaking national parks and abundant wildlife on the African Savanna make Kenya a favorite for safari's. The coastline on the Indian Ocean is cool and humid; And the south east portion of Kenya is covered in lush tropical rain forest. It is this mountainous region that produces some of the finest coffee in Africa. The highest point is Mt. Kenya, at 17,058 feet. Most coffee in Kenya is produced on small privately owned farms in the highlands. Kenya exports much of it's yearly coffee yield.
Kenya's high grown coffee is all Arabica; Smooth and mild with a slightly winey aftertaste. For many years, coffee from Kenya has been popular throughout Europe, and that popularity is spreading to the United States as well.
